Hi, homesteaders, I’m Peggy. Thanks for stopping by.
My husband Jack and I have two young adults and are in the process of becoming foster parents. We started homesteading on our 3.14 acres about three years ago. It all began with ten chicks and a lot of surprises. Between chicken butt and unexpected attacks from animals of the day and night, we were left with five roosters.
Our homestead consists of a lot of trials and errors. We have seen many animals come and go on our mini farm. Most of them were last-minute decisions that caused us to find them a temporary house while we figured out where to build their permanent homes.
It has been an unexpected journey that has brought joy, laughter, and tears. Things don’t always go as planned, and because of last-minute opportunities, we don’t always have a plan.
The beautiful part of our journey on PI is learning to dream again. We have built homes for our animals, and now we are going to build a house for ourselves. My new life verse is Proverbs 24:27 (NASB) Prepare your work outside And make it ready for yourself in the field; Afterwards, then, build your house.
On this blog, you will learn about animals, food, building projects, and family. We will share our experiences with you so that you will be prepared as you begin homesteading. My hope for you is that you’ll avoid unnecessary mistakes, never stop dreaming, and keep building.
